South Bay New Life Christian Center is a non-denominational, multi-cultural, Bible-believing and Bible-teaching, Christian church in Carson, California. New Life began serving the community in July of 1992 as the result of a merger between two other churches. In 1998, John Weigelt was selected to serve as Senior Pastor. John previously served in a variety of positions at different churches, including Youth Director, Assistant to the Pastor, and Associate Pastor. For over three decades, New Life has partnered with other ministries and has drawn from the loving hearts of our own members to faithfully serve God and people, both locally and worldwide. We are a family-oriented church that strives to be “real”. Most of us understand through personal experience how the things of life can sometimes rob us of our hope and peace. Many of us have learned life’s lessons the hard way and are now learning how to live life the way God intended. We want to share this new Hope and Peace with others.
New Life Exists…
To honor and glorify God by teaching the truth of God's Word as accurately as we can.
To share our new life in Christ with others we come into contact with from all backgrounds.
To celebrate and worship in Spirit and in Truth to build up the Church, which is the body of Christ.
To obey Jesus’ commands to love God, love others, and make disciples of all people groups.
Our Credo
Our Cause is Christ. Our Passion is to Share Hope and a Future. We’re Here to Offer NEW LIFE in Christ.
Our Mission is...
To share God's Love with our community and to offer hope for the future (John 3:16).
To reach our community and beyond with the good news that Jesus saves (Luke 15, Luke 19:10).
To teach believers how to love God and love their neighbors as themselves (Matt. 22:37-40).
To send those believers into the world to share the story of how Jesus saved them (Rom. 10:13-15; Acts 1:8).
We believe the Bible is authoritative and inerrant, our standard for truth and obedience.
We should live Christ-centered lives, loving the Lord God with our whole hearts.
We are dependent on God for every area of our lives.
We believe individual and corporate prayer is crucial in doing God’s work.
We should equip believers for a passion-driven, gift-based ministry.
We are to take Christ to the nations by giving, praying, and going.
What We Believe
We believe that God is the Creator and Giver of life. We believe in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and these three are One.
We believe that God sent the Son, Jesus Christ, to the earth as the Savior of the world, the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people.
We believe that through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ we have forgiveness of our sins and that by faith in this finished work we have eternal life.
We believe in the Person of the Holy Spirit, who indwells and empowers those who believe with a variety of spiritual gifts, to be used to edify His Church.
We believe and affirm the divine inspiration, truthfulness, and authority of both Old and New Testament Scriptures in their entirety as the only written Word of God.
For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.
